To prevent the spread of COVID-19 (novel Coronavirus), the City of San Rafael closed community centers and cancelled all community classes, programs, recreation leagues, and events until further notice. For additional updates, please visit the City’s website.

Effective immediately:

During the Stay At Home  California state order, please remember that parks are only open for passive use, like walking or jogging, and other activities that maintain social distance.

As per the updated parks order effective May 18, 2020, San Rafael Parks are once again accessible by motorized vehicles, but park amenities such as bathrooms, playgrounds and picnic areas remain closed to help reduce the spread of disease. Gatherings, sports, and pickup games are not allowed. Maintain a social distance of 6-feet from others, and don't forget to bring your face covering. Thank you for helping to be a part of “flattening the curve” and slowing the spread of the virus.

The City has also developed a temporary outdoor recreation class rental program  to support San Rafael organizations and businesses that are looking to move their recreational classes outdoors, based on the County’s Guidelines for Outdoor Recreation Activity Businesses. To learn more, please visit this page.

Due to COVID-19, we are not currently accepting reservations for picnic areas at these locations, however all parks available for public use.
